Exciting news! My teaching efforts were recognized; I won the Golden Dozen teaching award, given by NYU’s College of Arts and Science for excellence in undergraduate teaching. You can read more about it here.
In addition to research, I have a passion for teaching. I particularly enjoy teaching classes where students get first-hand experience of original data collection and analysis. I emphasize exploring one’s curiosity and being willing to make mistakes — two critically necessary elements of any research endeavor. I also value clear writing, particularly when students are writing about technical or theoretical matters and encourage my students to write for a wide audience.
I teach undergraduate classes in Sociology of Medicine and Research Methods. I teach a graduate seminar on Sexualities and Reproduction. Shoot me an email if you are interested in my syllabi or my approach. Or if you want to share ideas or just chat.
